Workcover Physiotherapy

After an injury, nothing can worsen the situation like the bill, especially if you are prevented from working. The majority of the time, injuries occur on the sporting field, but the workplace and on the road can be common settings for injuries as well. If you have been injured at work or in an accident, physiotherapy may be covered by your insurance or WorkCover.

Third Party Insurance & Coverage

Third Party Insurance is a requirement for many, as it protects you and those around you from accident-induced costs. Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is often linked with injury cases, which often includes opinions, advice and treatments from health professionals, including physiotherapists, in order to solve claims and any associated legal procedures.

As essential as they are, launching claims with insurers can be time consuming and even frustrating, and often further hampered by pain or injury. As a result, Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy is able to treat patients before their claim is processed, ultimately helping them back to full health quicker. Once the claim has been approved, patients can claim back expenses from their Third Party Insurer. Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy can also directly invoice the insurer, provided a current medical certificate and approved claim number have been supplied by the patient.

Examples of Third Party Insurers are RACQ, Allianz and Suncorp. Feel free to give us a call on 07 3352 5116 to discuss Third Party coverage, or ring your insurer to get a better insight into the process.

What we need from you:

  • A current medical certificate from your GP
  • An approved claim number supplied by the Third Party

*You can be treated before your claim has been approved and once converted from pending to approved the expenses can be reimbursed from the insurer. The claim can be pending whilst you have the claim number however if the claim is not successful expenses are 100% that of the patient.

WorkCover Physiotherapy

Our jobs often require us to work in a number of environments or situations, some of which can be physically taxing. Injuries at work can often be prevented, but are not totally unavoidable, as even sitting at a desk can have negative health effects.

WorkCover Queensland is an independent government owned body focused on customer insurance. If you have been injured at your work or because of your work, you may be eligible to access WorkCover benefits. Feel free to call WorkCover on 1300 362 128 to discuss eligibility or assistance with putting in a WorkCover claim.

Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy will happily take on patients via WorkCover. If patients have a current Medical Certificate and WorkCover claim number, we can directly bill WorkCover for your sessions. If your claim is still pending approval, we would encourage you to seek treatment in the meantime. You will be billed for the appointments, and seek reimbursement after the claim has been approved.

Physiotherapists that deal with WorkCover patients have a total of 5 allocated appointments from the Initial Appointment before requesting more if it is required.

If you have any questions in regards to this, or you would like to book a physiotherapy appointment under WorkCover, ring us on 07 3352 5116 today!

What we need from you to bill WorkCover directly:

  • Eligibility to access WorkCover benefits
  • A current medical certificate from your GP
  • An approved WorkCover claim number

*If your claim has not been approved and is still pending, make the reception staff at Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy aware of your current situation. The staff will ask for your medical certificate and will email you the invoice for future claiming from WorkCover. Once approved Pivotal Motion can invoice WorkCover directly.

DVA

If you are a former serving member or a current member of the Australian defence force, you may be eligible for pensions or benefits from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Ring 133 254 or look up http://www.dva.gov.au/benefits-and-payments/eligibility to find out whether you are eligible for DVA schemes.

Under the DVA initiatives, clients are able to access physiotherapy treatments under a benefit scheme. Eligible clients will need to obtain a physiotherapy referral through their General Practitioner, Medical Specialist, Treating Doctor in Hospital, Hospital Discharge Planner or Physiotherapist with a current referral.

If you have a DVA Gold Card, the Department will pay for physiotherapy services to meet your clinical needs. If you have a DVA White Card, the Department will pay for physiotherapy services, if they are required because of an accepted war or service caused injury or disease. Read this webpage for more information: http://www.dva.gov.au/factsheet-hsv19-physiotherapy-services-veteran-community

Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy directly bills DVA for services, taking the financial pressure off the patient. There is also no gap payment required.

What we need from you:

  • Eligibility to receive DVA benefits
  • A DVA Gold or White Card
  • A current referral for physiotherapy services (read above)

Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy will happily work together with various medical professions in order to help clients through injury and sickness. If you have any questions about our services or DVA claims, feel free to ring our friendly reception staff on 07 3352 5116.
